It’s not imperative that he do so, but New York Giants running back David Wilson didn’t make too many fans in the fantasy football community this week.
Of the seven times he carried the football against Dallas this past Sunday, the ball ended up in the possession of the Cowboys twice. He finished with just 19 net yards on the night, resulting in negative fantasy points for nearly every owner that started Wilson in Week 1.
Wilson exacerbated the situation by taking to Twitter (@4stillRunning) to address those who had kindly wished the running back put up a few more statistics on Sunday, saying as follows:
Ayy to fantasy participants and pissed Giants fans ur irrelevant to me!!! Nobody wants me to succeed more than ME!!! WATCH US WORK!

The Giants helped to strike more fear into the hearts of David Wilson owners by holding a tryout on Tuesday for running back help and deciding to sign Brandon Jacobs, a familiar face around East Rutherford.
Two fumbles in seven carries plus the addition of a bruising back that could steal goal line touches. So what is a Wilson owner to do?
Start him. With confidence.
Giants coach Tom Coughlin preached this week about how Wilson will have to hold the ball high and tight. And Wilson, who is only 22, doesn’t have a history of fumbling problems. After fumbling in the season opener last season, Wilson went on to carry the ball 71 times, return 57 kicks and make four catches – and finished the season with just that one fumble.
After losing Andre Brown in the preseason, New York is clearly thin at the running back position. Wilson has the most talent, potential and upside of any of the Giants’ running backs, and after all, it’s only Week 1. It’s far too soon to worry about one bad performance.
He’ll face a tough Denver run defense that held the Ravens’ Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce to just 58 yards combined in Week 1, but he still operates within an offense that has to run to be successful. So for Week 2, he might not be a top-end play, but he still needs to find a place in your lineup.
If you don’t own him but can dupe another owner into selling low, pull the trigger on that deal as soon as possible.
